Description

There are mornings when the wrist deserves something that feels like garnets held up to a winter window. Rhodolite garnet, that particular raspberry-meets-violet stone mined from the earth's deeper registers, has long been prized in Indian jewellery for the warmth it carries even in silver. Here, individual beads of the stone are strung or set in sterling silver links to form a bracelet that sits close to the wrist without fuss. Sterling silver is the right metal for rhodolite: its cool, bright finish does not compete with the stone's inner heat but frames it, the way a plain border contains an intricate weave. The craft here is disciplined, almost meditative, closer in sensibility to the restrained bead-and-wire traditions of Bengal and Rajasthan's silver ateliers than to the theatrical excess of Kundan or Meenakari. The bracelet weighs 11.4 grams and measures 7.5 inches (approximately 19 cm), the standard length that rests comfortably on most wrists. Wear it against a silk kurta in ivory or blush for a festive lunch, where the garnet's rose-violet catches any candlelight nearby. On quieter days, it translates effortlessly onto a bare arm with a linen shirt, letting the stone speak without ceremony. Offered as a free-size piece at its standard 19 cm length, the bracelet is finished and ready to wear. Sterling silver requires only occasional gentle polishing to maintain its brightness, making this an honest, lasting companion for daily life.
