Description

There is a particular red that belongs to wedding light alone, and this set knows it well. Fashioned in brass and finished to a warm, burnished tone, this groom's mala and earrings set draws from the exuberant bridal jewellery tradition of northern India, where deep red stones are set in bold foiled enclosures to catch the glow of ceremony. The necklace runs to 16.5 inches (approximately 42 cm), its pendant measuring 2.25 inches high by 1.95 inches wide (roughly 5.7 cm by 5 cm), each stone seated in close-set, collet-style mounts that maximise colour and lustre. The earrings, 2.70 inches tall by 1.05 inches wide (approximately 6.9 cm by 2.7 cm), echo the pendant's geometry in miniature. A maang tikka, 7 inches (approximately 18 cm) in length, completes the triumvirate. The full set weighs 110 grams, a presence that is felt without being burdensome. For a groom in a deep ivory or cream sherwani, this set provides the ceremonial punctuation a pale palette demands. It reads equally well against a jewel-toned brocade achkan at a sangeet or mehendi evening, where the red stones mirror the florals and festivity around them. The brass base makes the set resilient through long celebratory days. All three pieces are available individually, so the wearer can choose to style each component separately across different events.
