Description
There are silhouettes that do not ask for attention; they command it quietly, by right of craft alone. This choker set is built around the Kundan tradition of Rajasthan, where flat-foiled glass stones are pressed into refined metal cells to create surfaces that hold light rather than merely catch it. Here, deep red and forest green stones are set into a broad brass choker, the face spanning roughly thirteen centimetres across and just under thirteen centimetres in height, its weight a substantial one hundred and fourteen grams. The chandbali earrings, each standing approximately seven and a half centimetres tall and one and a half centimetres wide, echo the crescent-drop form long associated with Mughal court jewellery. Brass, worked and finished to suggest the warmth of gold, carries the setting with honest confidence. The choker closes on an adjustable dori, allowing it to sit precisely at the collarbone or just above, as the wearer prefers. For a silk or tissue chanderi kurta in ivory or deep teal, this set provides the single, considered focal point the fabric invites. At a festive mehendi or a music evening, it pairs equally well with a contrast-bordered cotton saree, where the red and green stones echo the border's colour without competing. The adjustable dori ensures a comfortable fit across necklines; free size means no alteration is needed. Wipe the brass surface gently with a soft cloth after wear to preserve the finish over time.
