Description
There are evenings that ask to be dressed in light, and this is the set you reach for. Rooted in the Rajput courts of Jaipur, Polki work is among India's most uncompromising jewellery traditions: uncut diamonds, or here their curated glass and stone equivalents, are set face-up in a bed of lac and foiled backing, held by fine wire prongs so that each facet catches and scatters whatever glow surrounds it. This set carries that same visual grammar across three pieces. The choker, measuring roughly ten and a half centimetres tall and nearly twenty-one centimetres wide, is built on a brass base and closes with an adjustable dori, allowing the neckline to sit exactly where you want it. The earrings, each approximately seven and a half centimetres long and two centimetres wide, carry the same floral Polki cluster work downward in a gentle drop. The maang tikka, roughly ten centimetres long and three centimetres wide, completes the parure with a pendant centrepiece that sits cleanly at the centre parting. Together they weigh two hundred and thirty-nine grams, a presence you will feel. Wear the full set with a deep-toned raw silk lehenga for a winter wedding; or let just the choker and tikka anchor a pale ivory tissue saree for a festive family gathering where restraint reads as confidence. The adjustable dori closure means the choker fits most necklines without alteration. The brass base is durable and holds the Polki setting firmly through a long evening of wear.
