Description

There is a particular kind of adornment that does not merely decorate the hand but maps it, tracing its architecture from wrist to finger in one unbroken conversation of metal and light. The haath phool is among the oldest forms of hand jewellery in the Indian canon, and this piece honours that lineage with quiet confidence. Worked in brass and finished to a warm, antique-adjacent glow, it spreads across the back of the hand like a blooming garden in relief. At its heart and along its radiating arms, Polki stones sit in open-back settings, their uncut surfaces catching and scattering light the way a still pond does at noon. The floral motif, rendered with the kind of measured repetition that speaks to Rajasthani sensibility, reads as both festive and ancient. The bracelet portion and the ring connection work together as a single piece, so the 4.6 inches (approximately 11.7 cm) of length and 1.6 inches (approximately 4 cm) of width lie evenly distributed across the hand, the full 32 grams present but never cumbersome. Wear it over ivory silk at a mehendi, where its brass warmth echoes the henna still drying on the palm. Equally, it elevates a plain cotton kurta at a festive lunch, becoming the single statement that needs no supporting cast. The free-size fit accommodates most adult hands with ease. Brass, treated well, develops a pleasing depth over time, requiring only occasional gentle cleaning to keep the Polki settings at their clearest.
