Description
There are bridal sets that announce themselves, and there are those that simply arrive, fully formed, like a memory of something ancient. This Polki stone studded necklace set draws from the uncut-diamond aesthetic of the Mughal courts, interpreted here in brass with the warmth and weight that a bridal piece demands. Polki setting, which places flat, foil-backed stones within a raised bezel, gives each element a characteristic lustre: not the hard brilliance of faceted cuts, but a soft, almost candlelit glow. The necklace spans roughly thirteen centimetres wide and nine centimetres deep, substantial enough to read across a mandap without overwhelming the décolletage. The chandelier earrings, measuring nearly eight centimetres in drop and three centimetres across, echo the central motif of the necklace, while the maang tikka, at nearly eleven centimetres in length, descends the centre parting with the quiet authority this moment deserves. Together the set weighs one hundred and fifty-eight grams, distributed across forehead, ears and throat in a way the body learns to carry gracefully. Wear it with a red or ivory Banarasi silk lehenga for the pheras, or with a deep teal Kanjeevaram sari at a reception where you wish the jewellery to carry the narrative of the evening. The necklace fastens with an adjustable dori, accommodating most necklines without alteration. Brass as a base metal gives the set its heft and its golden tone, and the polki stones are set securely for repeated wear across ceremony days.
