Description

There is a particular kind of beauty that does not demand gold to be believed. These Polki earrings carry the spirit of Rajasthani bazaar craft in every facet. Polki, at its most democratic, is the art of setting uncut, foil-backed glass or mineral fragments so that they catch light the way a raw stone would, flat-faced and luminous rather than brilliant-cut and sharp. Here, the copper alloy base is worked into a pendant silhouette, approximately 2 inches (roughly 5 cm) in height, set with glass stones arranged in the layered, floral-geometric vocabulary that Jaipur's karigar workshops have refined over generations. The metal is finished to a warm, antique-adjacent tone that prevents the piece from reading as costume and keeps it firmly within the register of considered craft. At 10 grams, the pair carries just enough presence without pulling at the lobe. Wear them with a cotton mulmul kurta in ivory or saffron for a Sunday lunch or a festive daytime gathering. They settle equally well over a handloom silk blouse at a mehendi, where their warm glow reads as intentional rather than incidental. Free-sized for universal fit, these earrings suit a simple hook closure suited to pierced ears. The copper alloy base ensures lightness over a long day. The glass settings are mounted securely within the bezel frame, making them reliable companions for occasions where you want adornment without anxiety.
