Description
There are gardens that bloom only in silver. This necklace set belongs to a tradition that marries two of India's most painstaking surface arts: the translucent colour of Meenakari enamel and the moonlit geometry of filigree wirework, here rendered in sterling silver rather than the gold base more familiar to Jaipur's ateliers. Delicate pink floral motifs sit at the heart of each enamelled panel, their petals edged and contained by fine filigree lacework that frames rather than overwhelms. Kundan-set stones are placed with deliberate restraint, each foil-backed and pressed flush, catching light from within rather than competing with the enamel's warmth. The set weighs a considered 57 grams across necklace and earrings; the pendant measures approximately 11.4 cm long and 10.7 cm wide, the earrings 4 cm tall and 1.5 cm wide. The adjustable dori closure means the necklace sits precisely where you wish it to. Wear this with a blush or ivory chanderi kurta for a festive afternoon, or let it rest against the silk of a pale pastel saree at a mehndi or sangeet, where its pink will hold a quiet conversation with the flowers in your hair. The sterling silver base keeps the piece light despite its generous scale. The adjustable dori accommodates varied necklines without fuss. Both the enamel colour and the Kundan settings are protected by the filigree border, making this a set suited to careful regular wear rather than the back of a cabinet.
