Description
The peacock has always known it was made for adornment. This multi-strand choker and earring set draws from the Rajasthani tradition of Polki work, where uncut stones are set close to the metal surface so that light falls on them the way it falls on still water: flat, true and without artifice. The brass base, worked into a sweeping peacock pendant measuring 3.5 inches (8.9 cm) in height and 2.2 inches (5.6 cm) in width, carries the bird's tail feathers in layered relief, each arc filled with Polki stones that catch and hold the eye. The choker itself runs four inches (10.2 cm) at its core, extending on an adjustable dori that accommodates most necklines without alteration. The earrings, at 2.7 inches (6.9 cm) in height and a slender 0.7 inches (1.8 cm) in width, echo the pendant's language without repeating it. The set is offered in maroon and pink, each colourway shifting the mood from ceremonial gravity to festive warmth. Total weight across the set is 90 grams. Wear the maroon colourway with an ivory Banarasi silk sari at a winter wedding, or pair the pink version with a printed Chanderi kurta set for a curated festive afternoon. The adjustable dori closure requires no jeweller's visit. At 90 grams across both pieces, the set wears comfortably for several hours. The brass construction ensures the structure holds its shape through repeated use.
