Description

The peacock has always known how to carry colour. In northern India, the peacock motif is among the oldest languages of adornment, appearing in Mughal miniatures, Rajasthani temple friezes, and the enamel vocabularies of Jaipur's Meenakari tradition. These earrings speak that same dialect. The silhouette is long and architectural, each piece measuring approximately 8.5 cm in height and 2.7 cm in width, the body of the bird fanning downward in a delicate drop. American diamond stones are set into a brass base, catching light with the clean, faceted brightness that cubic zirconia does so well in costume jewellery of this register. The brass itself lends warmth and weight, the full piece sitting at 30 grams across the pair. Four colourways are offered: a deep peacock blue, a verdant green, a soft lavender, and a pink-purple that reads almost like a faded rose. Each is a different temperament of the same bird. Wear the blue or green colourway with an ivory silk tissue saree for a classical festive pairing. The lavender and pink-purple translate equally well over a raw-silk kurta at a mehendi or an intimate family gathering, where the drop length reads as statement without effort. At just over eight centimetres in drop, these suit medium to longer necklines best. The brass construction keeps them sturdy without being unwieldy, and the single free size fits standard pierced ears without adjustment. A considered choice for the woman who dresses with intention.
