Description

The peacock has always known how to hold the light. Worked in a brass silver alloy and finished in the spirit of Rajasthan's lacquer tradition, this crescent-form necklace carries the bird's signature grandeur without excess weight. The pendant, measuring approximately 1.5 inches in height by 1 inch in width (roughly 3.8 cm by 2.5 cm), is set with Kundan-inlaid feather detailing and softened by freshwater pearls and faceted quartz that catch the light with quiet insistence. The lacquer ground beneath the stonework lends depth and colour saturation in a way that enamel alone cannot, a technique long practised by artisans across Jaipur's old city quarters. The matching earrings, 2.1 inches tall and 0.7 inches wide (approximately 5.3 cm by 1.8 cm), echo the crescent silhouette and share the same layered construction. The full set weighs 166 grams, substantial and considered. For a silk chanderi or tissue silk saree at a festive lunch, this necklace does the work of statement jewellery without crowding the neckline.
