Description

There is an old pleasure in the paan leaf, in its folded geometry and its quiet ceremony. The paan motif carries one of the oldest memories in Indian adornment. Rendered here in beads shaped to echo the beloved betel leaf, each piece in this packet holds the compact, slightly tapered silhouette that artisans across Rajasthan and Bengal have threaded into mala, tassel and layered necklace for generations. The beads sit with a smooth, tactile weight, the full packet weighing eighty-seven grams, a generous handful that speaks to the material's honest density. The colour palette follows what you see in the photograph: rich, considered tones suited to stringing, layering or combining with uncut stone pendants and Kundan centrepieces. Free size in form, these beads are sold as a packet intended for the jeweller's hand or the collector's own careful assembly. For a cotton silk saree at a daytime puja, string them simply into a single-strand mala and let the paan form do all the talking. For a Benarasi or Kanjeevaram occasion, layer two lengths at different depths alongside a Meenakari pendant for a quietly festive register. Because these are sold as loose beads, the final necklace length and closure are entirely within the maker's discretion. The smooth bead finish requires no special storage beyond keeping it away from direct moisture. The weight distributes comfortably, making even a longer assembled strand easy to wear through a full ceremonial day.
