Description

Tanzanite, in its most candid mood, needs only silver to speak. Oval faceted tanzanites, each cut to draw out the stone's signature shift between violet-blue and indigo, are set in close sequence along a wraparound band of sterling silver. The setting keeps the metal spare and the stones generous, letting the facets catch light with every turn of the wrist. Tanzanite is among the rarer gemstones in contemporary Indian fine jewellery, found almost exclusively in a single deposit near Kilimanjaro and prized precisely because no two stones hold quite the same depth of colour. Sterling silver, with its cooler, brighter finish, suits this stone better than gold; it refuses to compete, choosing instead to frame. The bracelet measures roughly 0.6 cm in height and 25.4 cm in length, and weighs 8.5 grams, sitting lightly but with discernible presence on the wrist. Wear it against a raw silk kurta in ivory or stone grey, where the indigo registers as a quiet provocation. It pairs equally well with a tailored white cotton shirt for lunch or a gallery opening, the violet-blue deepening under afternoon light. The free-size wraparound construction means it adjusts to the wrist without a clasp, coiling gently for a secure, comfortable fit. Sterling silver is durable enough for daily wear and polishes easily with a soft cloth, making this a piece that earns its place not in a box but on the wrist.
