Description
There are silhouettes that carry an entire tradition on their shoulders. This brass necklace set draws from the vocabulary of north Indian bridal craft, its wide centrepiece spanning eight inches (approximately 20.3 cm) and rising 2.3 inches (approximately 5.8 cm) in a layered, architectural form that recalls the massed goldwork of Rajasthani karigars working in Jaipur and Bikaner. The brass base, finished to a warm antique gold, is worked in the manner of temple and jadau-inspired jewellery, with close-set stone placements framed by fine latticework borders. The earrings, measuring 2.75 inches by 1.3 inches (approximately 7 cm by 3.3 cm), repeat the central motif in miniature, and the maang tikka descends a full six inches (approximately 15.2 cm) from its parting pin, grounding the entire set in ceremonial intention. At 250 grams, this is jewellery made to be felt and acknowledged. The adjustable dori closure ensures the neckpiece sits correctly across different necklines without alteration. Wear the full set with a heavy silk tissue lehenga at a mehendi or sangeet, where the antique brass tones hold beautifully against ivory, burnt orange and deep red. For a less formal occasion, pair the necklace alone with a cotton or chanderi kurta in ochre or forest green. Free-sized and dori-fastened, the necklace adjusts to the wearer without fuss. The brass construction ages gracefully and rewards gentle storage away from moisture.
