Description
Brass remembers gold long before gold ever knew its own name. This necklace set draws from the vocabulary of north Indian temple craft, where brass is not a compromise but a choice: warm, dense, and unapologetically present. The body of the necklace is composed in a layered festoon silhouette, its pendants arranged in graduated drops that carry the weight and rhythm of traditional Jadau-influenced design, even as the setting speaks to a broader, more accessible school of Rajasthani adornment. Coloured stones, set in closed bezels, punctuate the brass with deep, saturated colour, their foiled backing giving them the depth of semi-precious work. The earrings, at just under seven centimetres tall and roughly two and a half centimetres wide (2.8 inches by 1.05 inches), balance drama with restraint. The full set weighs a substantial 164 grams, a figure that confirms the sincerity of its construction. An adjustable dori brings the necklace to a working length of approximately 49.5 centimetres (19.5 inches). Wear this set with a deep-toned Banarasi silk saree for a wedding ceremony where the jewellery must hold its own against heavy weave. It works equally well over an ivory kurta set for a mehendi or a daytime pooja, where the brass warmth reads as deliberate and grounded rather than formal. The free-size dori ensures the necklace sits correctly on most necklines without adjustment, and the brass develops a gentle patina over time, deepening its character with every wearing.
