Description

There is a kind of jewellery that does not ask for occasion permission; it simply arrives, and the room adjusts. This multi-stone fashion necklace draws from the vernacular of Indian costume jewellery at its most considered: a structured metal base, likely finished in an antique or oxidised tone, set with faceted stones in either a deep forest green or a warm ceremonial red. The arrangement follows the sensibility of layered choker-style necklaces seen in the craft corridors of Rajasthan, where metal is worked into graduated settings that hold coloured stones in close, almost architectural order. Each stone catches light differently depending on angle, giving the piece a quiet dynamism. At roughly 15 cm in height and weighing just over 24 grams, the necklace sits with presence without pressing on the collarbone. Pair the green colourway with a silk chanderi kurta in ivory or pale gold for a daytime festivity; the red reads beautifully against a deep navy or black georgette blouse for an evening gathering. Both colourways translate across regional dressing, from a Bengali cotton tant to a Rajasthani tie-dyed odhni. The free-size construction means the piece accommodates a range of necklines without adjustment. The metal framework gives it resilience for repeated wear, and the standard closure allows easy self-dressing. At 24.4 grams, it is substantial enough to feel intentional, light enough to wear through an afternoon and into evening without fatigue.
