Description

Colour and craft, inseparable as monsoon and marigold. This three-piece parure carries the unmistakable grammar of Jaipur's meenakari ateliers: a brass base worked with hand-set Kundan stones whose flat-foiled settings catch light with the stillness of still water, the negative space between them flooded with vitreous meenakari enamel in the multi-coloured variant, and a concentrated violet in the purple. Pendant drops of hand-strung beads fall from the necklace in the manner of traditional tassel work, lending movement to a composition that is otherwise architectural in its symmetry. The earrings, three inches tall and just over an inch wide (approximately 7.6 cm by 2.8 cm), mirror the necklace's central medallion motif. The maang tikka, at six inches in length (approximately 15.2 cm), traces a clean line to the centre parting without excessive weight. Together the set weighs 210 grams, a presence that reads as considered rather than excessive. Wear the multi-coloured version over ivory or raw-silk separates at a sangeet or mehendi, where each colour in the enamel finds its echo in the surrounding celebration. The purple colourway pairs beautifully with deep plum or midnight-blue tissue silk at a formal reception or a winter wedding. The necklace fastens on an adjustable dori, accommodating varying necklines with ease. The brass base is finished to resist tarnish through ordinary wear; store away from humidity to preserve the enamel's depth and the Kundan foil's brightness over time.
