Description
There is a particular stillness to mint green, the colour of a garden before the heat arrives. This choker set draws on the vocabulary of Rajasthani bridal craft, where brass is treated not as a base metal but as a canvas. The necklace stands a substantial 3.5 inches (approximately 8.9 cm) tall, its surface layered with foiled stone settings in cool mint green glass, arranged in the concentric registers characteristic of Jaipur's kundan-influenced costume jewellery tradition. Each stone is seated in a brass collet, its colour catching light with the muted luminosity of celadon. The earrings, 3.5 inches (8.9 cm) in height and 1 inch (2.5 cm) wide, mirror the necklace's architectural weight, while the mangtika, at 6.5 inches (16.5 cm), descends along the centre parting in a clean, unbroken line. Together the set weighs 185 grams, a presence that is felt as much as seen. Wear the full set against the ivory silk of a Banarasi sharara for a wedding function, or pair the choker and earrings alone with a mint-toned raw-silk kurta for a daytime sangeet. The mangtika works equally well threaded into a loose braid as into a pinned updo. The set is free size, the necklace adjustable at the back with a standard hook closure. Brass requires only gentle wiping with a soft cloth; store away from moisture to preserve the finish of the settings.
