Description

There are festivals that ask for gold, and there are festivals that ask for meaning. This Bhaiya Bhabhi Rakhi pairs two pendants on a single composition: a lord Ganesha rendered in cast metal, seated against a lotus backdrop, the blooming petals framing his figure with the quiet geometry that temple jewellery has always favoured. The lotus motif carries deep roots in devotional craft traditions across Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu, where metal workers press religious iconography into forms small enough to rest at the wrist yet precise enough to hold their detail across generations. The metal finish here is warm and matte-edged, lending the pendant the look of antique votive work rather than commercial replica. At just 0.55 inches in height (approximately 1.4 cm), the Ganesha face is intimate, and the rakhi thread, in its complementary colour, extends to a standard 13 inches (approximately 33 cm), long enough to tie comfortably on most wrists. For the bhabhi, this pairs beautifully with a silk kurta in deep ochre or rust for Raksha Bandhan morning rituals. For the bhaiya, the complementary thread rakhi sits cleanly against a white kurta or a linen shirt at a family gathering. Weighing 8.2 grams across both pieces together, the set is light enough for children and adults alike. The free-size thread accommodates most adult wrists with a simple knot. The metal pendants are finished to resist everyday handling, making this a keepsake as much as a seasonal adornment.
