Description

There is a particular patience in Kundan work, the kind that understands a long earring as a sentence, not a word. This piece, measuring 3.20 inches (approximately 8.1 cm) in length and 0.95 inches (approximately 2.4 cm) across, follows the classic long-drop silhouette that Jaipur's goldsmiths have composed for centuries. The setting is Kundan: foiled glass stones pressed flush into a brass base with refined lacquer backing, each stone held by burnished pure gold foil that catches even candlelight at a wedding mandap. From the top stud, the design descends through layered geometric panels into a final pearl drop, that single suspended pearl carrying the quiet authority that no faceted stone can replicate. Offered in deep emerald green and warm red, each colourway shifts the mood entirely, the green evoking Mughal garden inlays, the red recalling the bridal reds of Rajasthan. Wear the green with a silk organza lehenga in ivory or sage, or alongside a Banarasi tissue saree at a formal mehendi. The red pairs naturally with a deep crimson or gold tissue bridal ensemble, grounding the look without competing with heavier necklace work. At 30 grams the pair sits with genuine presence on the ear, substantial without strain. The stud-top closure keeps them stable through a long bridal day. The brass base is lacquered to resist tarnish, making occasional wear reliable and storage straightforward.
