Description

There are earrings that announce arrival, and then there are earrings that tell a story before a word is spoken. This long Kashmiri Kundan pair traces a lineage that runs through the bazaars of Jaipur, where the art of setting uncut glass and polished stones into a gold-toned foil bed has been perfected across generations. The base is worked in brass, finished to carry the warmth of a gilt surface, and the Kundan setting crowns each panel with closely laid stones in a pattern that recalls the architectural borders of a Kashmiri shawl: layered, rhythmic, deeply considered. Below the main panel, a jhumka drop swings with the easy confidence of a form that has never gone out of fashion in the subcontinent. Offered in two distinct colourways, green and mint, the piece changes character depending on the light it meets. At six point one inches in height and one point seven inches in width (approximately fifteen point five centimetres by four point three centimetres), these are statement earrings in the truest sense. Wear them with a silk tissue kurta for a winter wedding or let them anchor a plain cotton sari at a festival evening, where their scale earns its place without apology. Each pair weighs eighty grams, a considered weight that sits comfortably through an evening. The brass construction ensures durability across seasons, and the free-size fitting means the focus remains exactly where it belongs: on the craft itself.
