Description

A leaf caught mid-tremble, rendered in silver and light. The leaf has long been a sacred motif in Indian jewellery, appearing in temple friezes, in the garlands of classical dance ornaments, and in the intricate foliage that Jaipur's Kundan craftsmen press into gold foil and set stone. Here, that same tradition is interpreted in sterling silver, hallmarked 925, and worked in the Kundan style: each stone held not by a claw or bezel in the conventional sense, but by refined ribbons of metal pressed flush against its girdle, locking colour and light into the leaf's surface. The result sits at roughly four centimetres tall and just under two centimetres wide (1.5 inches by 0.7 inches), and weighs a considered eighteen grams, substantial enough to feel precious without pulling at the lobe. Wear these with an ivory Chanderi kurta and pearl drops elsewhere to let the silver speak clearly. They are equally at ease against the dense embroidery of a Benarasi blouse at a mehendi or a family puja, where their restrained formality reads as intention rather than effort. The free-size post or hook closure suits most ears without adjustment, and the 925 sterling construction resists tarnish with ordinary care. At eighteen grams the earrings carry just enough weight to hang gracefully and remain stable through a long evening, making them as practical for a winter wedding season as for a carefully assembled everyday look.
