Description

There are stones that hold the memory of water, and this necklace carries three of them at once. Worked in iron and brass, this double-strand necklace layers large agate beads alongside faceted tourmaline and labradorite, each stone chosen for the conversation it holds with the others. Agate brings its banded, chalcedony depths; tourmaline offers flickers of colour that shift with the light; labradorite contributes that characteristic spectral sheen, its surface catching blue and gold depending on how you move. The iron and brass framework grounds the whole composition in something earthy and unhurried, lending a weight and warmth that precious metals sometimes refuse. This is not Kundan precision or Jadau formality. It is a quieter tradition, closer to the lapidary sensibility of craft bazaars where stones are chosen by hand, strand by strand, for how they speak together rather than for uniformity. For daytime, wear it over a raw-silk kurta in ivory or ochre, where the banded agate reads almost architectural. For evening, let it sit against a dark cotton or chanderi blouse; the labradorite will do its silent theatre under candlelight. At fifteen and a half inches (approximately thirty-nine centimetres) in length and a substantial one hundred and fifty-five grams, the necklace sits comfortably at the collarbone. The double-strand silhouette gives it presence without fussiness, and the free-size format means it suits most necklines without adjustment. Iron and brass wear honestly over time, developing a gentle patina that only deepens their character.
