Description

The colour of a midnight sky pressed flat and set in silver. Lapis lazuli has been traded across the subcontinent for millennia, carried along routes that connected Badakhshan to Bikaner, its deep Prussian blue prized long before gemology gave it a vocabulary. These earrings work within that quiet legacy. Cut into a considered geometric form and set in sterling silver, the stone is allowed to speak without distraction. The silver work is restrained and purposeful: clean bezels or prong mounts that hold the cabochon-cut lapis securely without crowding its characteristic gold-flecked matrix. Sterling silver, with its cool grey lustre, is the right companion here, neither competing with the stone nor disappearing beneath it. At 1.4 inches (approximately 3.5 cm) in height and 10 grams in weight, the earrings carry quiet presence without demanding attention.
