Description

There are bridal sets that are merely beautiful, and there are those that carry the grammar of an entire jewellery tradition. This choker and jhumka set speaks fluently in Kundan, the courtly Rajasthani art of embedding foiled gemstones within a framework of refined metal, here translated into sterling silver rather than the customary gold base. The choker spans a commanding six and a quarter inches across and five and a quarter inches in height (approximately 13.3 cm by 15.9 cm), its surface filled with flat-set, glass-filled Kundan stones arranged in the dense, geometric flowering typical of Jaipur's finest bridal ateliers. Silver as a base gives the piece a cooler luminosity than gold, allowing the stones to read with particular clarity. The jhumkas, measuring two inches in height by just under an inch across (approximately 5 cm by 2.2 cm), echo the choker's vocabulary: layered, bell-shaped, graduating gently to a weighted drop. For a deep red Benarasi silk lehenga or a heavily embroidered ivory anarkali, this set commands without competing. It is equally persuasive at a sangeet or a mehendi ceremony, where its bold geometry reads well against candlelight and against cameras alike. The choker fastens on an adjustable dori, which accommodates different necklines with ease and is a practical consideration for bridal fittings where clothing changes frequently. Sterling silver is durable for extended wear and polishes readily, keeping this heirloom-quality set presentable across a full wedding season.
