Description
There are flowers that bloom once a season, and there are flowers fixed in Kundan that bloom for a lifetime. This pair draws from the Rajasthani Kundan tradition, where a base of worked brass is built up with a foil-backed setting that holds each stone flush against the metal, its edges sealed by thin ribbons of gold-toned Kundan paste. The principal motif is a full-blooming flower, its petals radiating outward in a composition that Jaipur karigars have refined across generations. Below the flower, a single pearl drop hangs freely, catching light with every small movement and providing the softness that balances the geometry above. The brass body, finished to read as warm gold, gives the piece a satisfying heft of forty-seven grams without the weight concentrated at any single point. The earring stands two point seven five inches tall (approximately seven centimetres) and one inch wide (approximately two point five centimetres), a silhouette that fills the frame without crowding the collarbone. Wear these with a silk tissue Banarasi kurta at a mehendi, where the pearl drop will echo the ivory of the embroidery. They work equally well clipped against bare ears above a cream linen kurta set at a festive afternoon gathering, their warmth completing an understated look. At under two and a half inches in width, the earrings sit within the ear rather than resting heavily against the jaw. The free-size fitting is designed to suit most lobes comfortably, making them easy to wear across a long festive evening.
