Description

There is a particular joy in a bangle that speaks before you do. These brass bangles are set in the classical Kundan tradition, where a base of lac or resin is packed into the frame and flat-cut stones are pressed into foiled bezels, stone flush against metal, colour pooling like stained light. The technique belongs to the ateliers of Jaipur and Bikaner, where karigar families have long worked this art of embedding without prongs, relying entirely on the pressure of refined metal to hold each stone in place. What distinguishes this pair is the jhumka drop suspended from the lower rim, a small pendulum of layered brass that carries the weight of an entire earring tradition into the wrist. The brass base gives the pieces their warmth and their heft, fifty-five grams distributed across two bangles in size 2.4, a weight you register pleasantly rather than burden. Wear them with an ivory chanderi kurta for a quiet afternoon occasion, where the colour of the Kundan stones catches the fabric's shimmer. For an evening wedding, layer them against heavier gold-tone pieces and let the jhumka drops animate every gesture. The 2.4 inner diameter suits a standard Indian wrist and the rigid bangle silhouette means no clasp to negotiate. The brass construction holds its finish well with minimal care, making these a considered choice for those who dress thoughtfully and reach for the same pieces again and again.
