Description

There is a grammar to celebration, and this set speaks it fluently. The necklace belongs to the Kundan tradition that flourished in the ateliers of Jaipur, where molten wax, lac and fine foil work conspired to hold uncut stones in seamless gold-toned settings. Here, that language is rendered in brass, its surface burnished to a warm, court-jewellery finish. Flat Kundan stones sit precisely inlaid across a wide, six-inch (roughly 15.2 cm) bridal panel, measuring one and a half inches (approximately 3.8 cm) in height, while strands of green beads cascade between the clusters, lending the piece the kind of botanical rhythm seen in older haveli portraits. The matching earrings, each two point two inches (5.6 cm) tall by one inch (2.5 cm) wide, and the maang tikka, a dramatic six inches (15.2 cm) in length, complete the parure with a symmetry that feels composed rather than assembled. The full set weighs one hundred and seventy-three grams, present but not punishing. For a daytime mehendi or a sangeet, wear this set against a bottle-green silk kurta to honour the bead work. For the wedding reception, let it anchor a cream or ivory lehenga where the Kundan catches the light without competition. The necklace closes with an adjustable dori, accommodating a range of necklines gracefully. Brass construction makes the set resilient for long ceremonial hours, and the green bead accents resist monotony across an evening's worth of changing light.
