Description
There is a geometry to devotion, and this set understands it completely. Kundan work is, at its heart, the art of pressing polished stones into a bed of refined lac, surrounded by fine foils and bordered with gold-toned metal so that light becomes an instrument of the setting itself. Here, that tradition is expressed through square-cut stones arranged across a broad, structured necklace that spans seven inches in length and five and a half inches in width (approximately 17.8 cm by 14 cm), its weight a considered seventy-six grams, substantial enough to sit with authority against the collarbone. The brass base, worked and finished in the manner Jaipur's Kundan karigars have long refined, carries each stone within its cell as though the metal grew around it. The earrings, one and a half inches tall and one inch wide (approximately 3.8 cm by 2.5 cm), repeat the square geometry with the same disciplined restraint. An adjustable dori closure at the necklace ensures a clean, customisable fall. Wear this set with an ivory Benarasi silk saree for a formal wedding occasion, where the structured stones read as heirlooms. Equally, it transforms a deep-toned raw silk kurta into something ceremonially complete for a festive gathering or reception. The adjustable dori accommodates most necklines without alteration. The brass construction keeps the set light enough for a full evening of wear, and the Kundan setting, being set rather than cast, holds its stones securely over time.
