Description
There are pieces that tell time, and there are pieces that hold it still. This Kundan Haathphool Watch belongs to a tradition that has always understood the hand as a canvas. Across Rajasthan, particularly in the ateliers of Jaipur, the haathphool has been worn as a gesture of ceremony: finger rings joined by a floral lattice to a wrist cuff, the whole span of the hand transformed into jewellery. Here, that tradition folds in a working watch, set flush at the wrist, its dial framed in polished brass and surrounded by Kundan-set stones in the classical flat-foiled manner. The brass base carries the warm tonality of aged gold without pretension. Floral medallions connect the finger loop to the cuff in the repeating geometry that Jaipur karigars have refined over centuries. Two dial colours are offered: a deep green and a clean white, each reading differently against skin and fabric. Pair the green-dial variant with a silk chanderi kurta and raw silk dupatta for a festive lunch; the white dial sits quietly and beautifully against a cream bridal lehenga as a deliberate, unexpected accent at the wrist and hand. The haathphool measures 5.8 inches (approximately 14.7 cm) in length and 5 inches (approximately 12.7 cm) in width, with an adjustable fit suited to most hand sizes. At 70 grams, it has presence without heaviness. The brass construction ensures durability through an evening of celebration.
