Description

There are earrings that announce arrival, and there are earrings that carry a whole vocabulary of craft within them. These Kundan earrings draw from the living tradition of Rajasthani goldsmithing, where artisans press uncut glass stones into a bed of gold-toned foil set within a lac core, coaxing flat surfaces into something luminous. Here, that language is translated faithfully into brass, a metal long beloved by karigar communities for its warmth and its willingness to hold intricate setting work with precision. The result is a broad, layered silhouette measuring six and a half centimetres tall and just over five centimetres wide, with the generous, chandelier-like spread that Jaipur's workshop tradition has made iconic. The stones sit flush, separated by fine metal borders, the whole surface catching light in the manner of palace jewellery distilled into wearable form. At forty-five grams, there is undeniable presence without rigidity. Pair these with a raw silk anarkali in ivory or deep saffron for a festive evening that does not try too hard. They are equally compelling alongside a handloom cotton kurta, letting the Kundan work do all the talking for a curated daytime occasion such as a mehendi or intimate puja gathering. The free-size hook or post closure suits most ears without adjustment. Brass construction ensures the piece holds its shape across seasons. The finish, warm and matte-gold in character, ages gracefully and requires only a soft cloth to restore its glow.
