Description

There is a quietness to Kundan work that belongs entirely to itself. These earrings are set in the Kundan tradition, where highly refined wax or lac forms the structural core and glass or semi-precious stones are pressed flush into gold foil-lined cavities, held by pure, flattened strips of gold-finished metal. Here, that architecture is rendered in brass, the subcontinent's oldest canvas for ornament, polished and treated to carry the warm, honeyed glow that Rajasthani karigars have long trusted when building pieces for daily devotion as much as celebration. The face of each earring is composed of Kundan-set stones arranged in a close, geometric cluster, framed by a border of individually laid foil settings. The back is finished cleanly, with a standard post-and-push-back closure that sits securely against the lobe. Brass allows the Kundan setting to remain accessible without compromising the integrity of the craft; every stone is still laid by hand, every foil edge pressed with the patience the tradition demands. Wear them with a deep-toned silk kurta for a winter evening gathering, or let them anchor a plain cotton sari at a daytime puja, where their restrained brilliance reads as considered rather than effortful. These are free-size earrings, meaning the post-and-push-back closure fits most standard pierced ears without adjustment. Brass requires a little care; store away from moisture and wipe gently after wear to preserve the finish. Priced at Rs 6,495, they offer genuine Kundan craftsmanship at a considered entry point.
