Description

There are earrings that do not ask to be noticed; they simply are. Rooted in the Kundan tradition that flourished in the courts of Rajasthan and later found its most refined expression in the ateliers of Jaipur, these brass earrings are built around the centuries-old practice of setting uncut stones into a bed of refined gold-toned lac, then pressing thin sheets of foil beneath each stone to coax out its inner light. The brass base, worked into a layered floral or geometric form typical of classical Kundan silhouettes, lends the piece both weight and warmth without the cost of solid gold. Each stone is held in place not by prongs but by the gentle pressure of the setting itself, a patience-driven technique that rewards close looking. The result is a surface that glows rather than glitters, restrained yet thoroughly celebratory. Wear them with an ivory chanderi kurta and pearl studs set aside for the evening, or pair them against the deep red border of a Banarasi silk sari at a festive family gathering. They carry a formal occasion with ease, yet sit equally well at a daytime puja or a wedding mehendi. One size accommodates all, and the earrings are offered exactly as pictured. The brass construction keeps the piece lighter than gold alternatives, reducing ear fatigue over long celebrations. Standard hook closures make them simple to fasten and equally easy to remove, so they remain a practical choice without ever surrendering their quiet elegance.
