Description

There are earrings that do not ask for attention; they simply hold it. Kundan is among the oldest inlay traditions in Indian jewellery, refined over centuries in the ateliers of Jaipur and carried forward by karigars who still press uncut glass stones into lac-set gold foil by hand. These earrings translate that discipline into brass, a metal long favoured for its warmth and workability, its surface burnished to receive the stones with the same ceremonial seriousness one expects of precious work. The flat, foiled Kundan settings catch light in the particular way that has made this technique irreplaceable: not a sparkle but a glow, steady and interior. The silhouette is close-set and geometric, framing the face without overwhelming it, the stones arranged in a pattern that echoes the grid-like precision of traditional Rajasthani court jewellery. The colour is as pictured, a rich interplay of warm gold tones and the cool luminosity of the set stones. For day, pair them with a handloom cotton kurta in ivory or terracotta and let the earrings carry the occasion alone. For evening, they sit beautifully against a silk or tissue saree, particularly one worked in zari, where the gold of the brass and the weave answer each other naturally. The earrings are free size with a standard post or hook closure suited to most piercings. Brass wears gently and asks only for a soft cloth after use to preserve its finish across many seasons.
