Description

There are necklaces that announce an entrance, and then there are those that become the memory itself. This bridal parure belongs to the Kundan tradition that Jaipur's goldsmiths have refined across centuries: a craft in which gemstones are set not with prongs but with fine foiled gold lac, pressed flush into a framework of worked metal until stone and setting become inseparable. Here, that discipline unfolds across a broad choker-to-collarbone necklace and a paired set of earrings, the whole composition weighing a considered 211 grammes. The base is brass, treated to carry the weight of the Kundan work without burden on the wearer. Uncut or flat-cut stones, likely glass composites in ivory and warm tones, sit within their bezels beneath a canopy of polished foiling. Pearl drops finish each earring and pendant point, drawing the eye downward in the manner of traditional Rajasthani bridal jewellery, where movement is itself an ornament. Wear this set with a heavily worked silk Benarasi lehenga for a wedding ceremony, allowing the necklace to occupy the neckline with authority. For a sangeet, pair it against a simpler tissue-silk anarkali in blush or ivory, letting the pearl drops animate every gesture. The set is free size and requires no adjustment. At 211 grammes across both pieces, the weight is distributed evenly between neck and ear. The brass base is finished to resist daily wear, making this as practical for a long ceremonial day as it is beautiful.
