Description

There are wrists, and then there are wrists that tell a story. Kundan is among the oldest inlay traditions alive in India, most faithfully practised in the ateliers of Jaipur, where molten lac is pressed into gold or base-metal frames and flat-cut stones are set flush against it with a foil beneath to amplify their luminosity. This bracelet carries that lineage in brass, a metal long favoured in Indian ornament for the warmth it lends to colour and its willingness to receive detailed setting work. The Kundan inlay here sits in close formation across the surface of the cuff, each stone held in a raised bezel that catches light from every angle. At twenty-nine grams, the piece has genuine presence on the wrist without heaviness, and the brass base gives the finished surface a honeyed, antique quality rather than a cold, contemporary gleam. For festive dressing, this bracelet reads beautifully alongside a Banarasi silk or a chanderi kurta in ivory or deep ochre, where the warmth of the brass and the glint of the Kundan inlay find natural companions. Worn casually, it elevates a cotton kurta with quiet authority, doing the work of a statement without announcing itself. The bracelet is offered in a free-size format, designed to slip over the hand and rest at the wrist with ease. At twenty-nine grams, it wears lightly through a long evening, and the brass construction means it asks only for occasional gentle cleaning to hold its lustre.
