Description

There are stories that silver remembers, and this choker carries one of the oldest. Rendered in sterling silver and finished in a deep oxidised patina, this panel-style choker brings the Krishna-lila to life through finely engraved tableaux set across a structured horizontal band. The engravings draw from a long tradition of narrative silverwork practised across Rajasthan and Bengal, where karigars have long used the burin to animate devotional scenes, from Vrindavan's forests to the banks of the Yamuna. The antique treatment is deliberate: oxidation settles into every carved line, throwing the imagery into sharp relief and giving the piece the authority of an heirloom. Weighing 85 grams, the choker sits with genuine presence. The panel stands 1.75 inches (approximately 4.4 cm) tall, giving each engraved scene the room it deserves to be read slowly. Wear it against a silk Banarasi blouse for a wedding reception, where the dark silver will hold its own beside brighter gold. It is equally compelling over a block-printed cotton kurta at a cultural evening, the matte oxidised finish belonging entirely to that quieter register. The free-size construction allows the choker to rest comfortably at the collarbone on most necklines. Sterling silver at this weight requires only occasional gentle polishing with a dry cloth to preserve the oxidised depth; avoid prolonged contact with perfume and moisture to keep the antique finish intact through years of wear.
