Description

There are pieces that do not ask for attention; they simply command it. This brass necklace carries the weight of considered craft in every link. Spanning a generous ten and a quarter inches in length (approximately 26 cm) and two and a half inches across (approximately 6.4 cm) at its widest point, the piece settles across the collarbone with real presence. The pendant or central drop ring, measuring just under an inch in height by half an inch wide (approximately 2.4 cm by 1.3 cm), anchors the composition with pleasing geometry. At forty-five grams, the necklace has the satisfying heft of honest metalwork, neither costume-light nor uncomfortably heavy. The brass has been worked in a tradition that prizes surface richness: an oxidised or antique-finish treatment gives the metal warmth and depth, recalling the old-school workshop sensibility of Rajasthani and Bengali brass-casting heritage, where the metal itself is the jewel. For a daytime gathering, wear it over an ivory cotton kurta with a single gold bangle kept deliberately plain. For an evening diwan or a festive dinner, let it sit against a dark silk blouse beneath a sheer organza dupatta, where the brass catches candlelight beautifully.
