Description

There is something quietly celestial about a stone that shifts between indigo and violet depending on the light it catches. These chandelier necklaces are built around hoops, a form that carries its own quiet geometry, yet the silhouette opens downward into layered drops that frame the collarbone with measured drama. The setting holds iolite, a stone prized across Indian jewellery traditions for its deep, watery blue-violet, a colour that reads differently in morning sun than it does under candlelight. The metalwork is sterling silver, finished to a polish that lets the stone do most of the talking. The hoop-and-drop construction references a sensibility found in colonial-era silver jewellery from the Deccan and Bengal, where silversmiths understood that negative space is as important as the metal itself. Each piece weighs 21 grams, a presence that is felt without being heavy, and hangs to a height of 3.3 inches (approximately 8.4 cm). Wear these with an ivory cotton kurta and straight trousers for an afternoon that asks for quiet elegance without effort. They work equally well with a sheer silk blouse and a draped saree in deep teal or midnight green, where the iolite echoes the textile's depth. The free-size hoop sits comfortably on most necklines without adjustment. Sterling silver worn close to the skin develops a warmth over time, and the polished finish requires only occasional gentle cleaning to keep its clarity.
