Description

There is a certain generosity to earrings that reach past the collarbone and still manage to feel delicate. These Kashmiri Kundan earrings open with a heart-shaped top set in the flat-foiled Kundan tradition, where uncut stones are pressed into a wax-and-lac bed within a brass framework and held by fine gold-toned foil that coaxes every sliver of light into warmth. From that heart, the piece descends through graduated Kundan-set panels into a fringe of ghungroos, the small brass bells that have chimed through bridal processions and festival dawns for generations. The Kashmiri aesthetic is unmistakable: an abundance that is never frantic, ornamentation arranged with the patience of a craftsman who considers each stone placement a decision rather than a habit. At 5.2 inches tall and 1.7 inches wide (roughly 13.2 cm by 4.3 cm), weighing 70 grams, these earrings carry genuine presence. Five colours, from deep bottle green and light jade to orange, red and white, allow the same silhouette to speak differently across seasons and skin tones. Pair the dark green or red with a silk organza kurta and raw-silk trousers for a Diwali gathering, or wear the white or orange against a handloom cotton saree at a daytime shaadi event where restraint and joy arrive together. The brass base keeps the piece durable and travel-friendly. Free size fittings suit most ears, and the ghungroo fringe is secured to move freely without snagging.
