Description

There are textiles that carry an entire landscape within their weave, and Sambalpuri ikat is one of them. Woven in the heartland of Odisha, Sambalpuri fabric is built on the ancient bandha tradition, where threads are resist-dyed before the loom even begins its work, so that pattern and colour emerge as if from within the cloth itself. This choker and earrings set centres that living tradition in a contemporary silhouette: a structured choker panel measuring 2.2 inches (approximately 5.6 cm) in height, backed with MDF for clean, confident form, and paired with earrings of matching height and 1 inch (approximately 2.5 cm) width. The signature geometric ikat motifs of Sambalpur sit against a haute red ground, deep and unwavering, while dangling stones at the hem of each earring introduce just enough movement to catch the light.
