Description

There is a grammar of adornment that begins at the wrist and reaches all the way to the fingertips. The haathphool is one of the oldest hand-jewellery forms in the subcontinental tradition, worn by brides and dancers long before the age of catalogues. This piece renders that idiom in warm-toned brass, a metal beloved by the karigars of Rajasthan for its weight, its resonance, and its willingness to hold intricate surface work without complaint. The form is architectural: a central medallion or floral boss sits at the back of the hand, connected by delicate chains to a wrist loop on one end and finger rings on the other, each junction considered rather than incidental. The brass carries a finish that deepens with wear, echoing the antique gold aesthetic that Jaipur's craftsmen have refined across generations. No precious stone is set here; the drama is entirely structural, a geometry of metal and movement. Wear this over a raw silk kurta for a Diwali gathering, where its warm lustre reads against ivory or burnt ochre without competing. For a mehendi afternoon, it layers beautifully beneath stacked bangles, the chains threading between existing ornaments with quiet confidence. The piece is free size, the wrist loop and finger rings adjustable to accommodate most hand proportions comfortably. Brass at this gauge is light enough for a full festive day. A soft dry cloth after wear will keep the surface in good condition across many seasons.
