Description

There is a particular kind of adornment that transforms the hand into a garden. This Haathphool belongs to a tradition older than most jewellery categories we recognise today: the hand-flower, worn across the subcontinent from Rajasthani bridal chambers to the courts of Bengal, where rings and wrist ornament were once unified into a single flowering statement. Crafted in brass and finished with the warm, honeyed depth that only well-worked base metal achieves, this piece radiates the spirit of festive jewellery without the weight of precious metal. Floral medallions radiate outward from a central boss, connected by fine chains that drape naturally across the back of the hand, the whole piece landing at a generous 56 grams, substantial enough to be felt and seen across a crowded celebration. For a mehndi or sangeet, wear it over bare hands so the chain-work catches candlelight against the skin; let the brass warm to a golden tone beside deep burgundy or forest green silk. On a more casual occasion, layer it over cream kurta separates at a festive lunch, where its antique-adjacent finish reads as deliberate and considered rather than overdressed. The piece is free size, designed to accommodate most adult hands through its adjustable chain connections. Brass holds its finish well when kept away from moisture; a soft cloth buff between wearings preserves the warm, mellow glow. At 56 grams, the weight distributes evenly and settles without pulling.
