Description
A bridal set this weighted with intention was never meant for quiet occasions. The Rani Haar is one of the most commanding silhouettes in the Indian bridal canon, a long, layered fall of ornament that draws the eye from collarbone to sternum and beyond. This piece, rendered in brass with a warm gold-toned finish, spans eighteen inches in length and six inches across at its widest, settling with genuine presence against the body. The pendant drops to three and a half inches, framed at just under an inch and a half wide, and the entire set weighs a substantial two hundred and sixty grams. Green stones are set throughout in a style reminiscent of the Kundan tradition, their vivid colour held within raised settings that catch light in the manner of polished foil-backed work from the ateliers of Jaipur and Bikaner. The groom's kalangi brooch, measuring over thirteen centimetres in length, is the quieter marvel of the set: a ceremonial turban ornament repurposed as a collector's accent piece, completing a matched bridal parure seldom found at this scale. Wear this set with a deep-green or ruby silk Banarasi lehenga for the pheras, where its width commands the full ceremony. It reads equally well draped over a heavily embroidered Kanjivaram saree for a reception where the textile and the ornament are equals. The necklace closes with an adjustable dori, accommodating most necklines without alteration. The matching earrings, at under five centimetres tall, are proportionate enough to wear through a long celebration without fatigue.
