Description
There are bridal sets that announce themselves, and there are those that hold court in silence. This one does the latter. Worked in the Kundan tradition that Jaipur's ateliers have refined across centuries, this three-piece set pairs a broad necklace with close-set Kundan stones in a deep, bottle-green against polished brass, with earrings and a maang tikka that extend the same vocabulary. The necklace is substantial in presence: six inches in height and ten inches across (roughly 15 cm by 25.5 cm), its panel-form silhouette typical of Rajput bridal adornment, where flat-set unfoiled stones are held in place by fine gold-toned wire work pressed into the base metal. The earrings, at just over eight centimetres long and about three centimetres wide, carry the same green Kundan clusters downward in a jhumar drop. The maang tikka, nearly twelve centimetres in length, follows the forehead's natural centre line and fastens with a traditional hook-and-chain. An adjustable dori closes the necklace at the back, allowing for a clean, customisable fit. Wear this full parure with a deep forest-green or ruby-red silk Banarasi for a wedding or sangeet. It reads equally well against ivory tissue or heavily embroidered Kanjeevaram for a reception. Because the base is brass rather than solid gold, the set offers durability alongside its decorative weight. The free-size adjustable closure means it accommodates a range of necklines without alteration.
