Description

There is a particular kind of green that belongs to forest clearings just after rain, and this bracelet holds it. Fashioned in brass, this wide cuff draws on a tradition of bold, ungilded metalwork that has long run alongside the more ornate goldsmithing of Rajasthan and Bengal. The bracelet's substantial two-inch height gives it the architectural confidence of a statement piece, while its inner diameter of approximately 5.6 centimetres (2.2 inches) accommodates a standard wrist without pinching. Set into the brass body, green aventurine catches light with the soft, spangled glow that has made it a favourite in folk and artisanal jewellery for generations. Its surface carries the warmth of oxidised brass rather than a high polish, lending the piece an antique quality that feels considered rather than accidental. At twenty-three grams, the cuff has presence on the wrist without becoming burdensome across a long day. Wear it against a cream or ivory linen kurta, where its forest green and warm brass read like a piece of wearable landscape. It sits equally well with a block-printed cotton sari in rust or indigo, grounding festive colour with something quieter and more grounded. The open-cuff silhouette means the bracelet slips on and adjusts gently to the wrist, requiring no clasp mechanism. Brass develops a natural patina with wear; a light buffing restores its original warmth whenever you choose.
