Description

There are ceremonies that ask you to arrive already radiant, before a single word is spoken. This three-piece parure, assembled in brass and finished to a warm golden tone, draws from the vocabulary of north Indian bridal adornment, where white stones are set in close, repeated formations to simulate the cool lustre of uncut Polki or the milky density of Kundan foils against gold. The necklace, extending seventeen and a half inches with an adjustable closure and a front drop of five and a half inches (roughly fourteen centimetres), is structured around a layered central panel where gold-toned brass frames each stone with a precision that recalls the chaunk-setting workshops of Jaipur. The earrings, three and a third inches tall by one and a half inches wide (approximately eight and a half by four centimetres), continue the same tessellated white-and-gold geometry, weighted evenly at two hundred and thirteen grams across the full set. The mangtika, nearly six inches long (roughly fifteen centimetres), descends gently to the centre parting, completing the symmetry with a single pendant motif. Wear the complete set with a heavily worked Banarasi silk lehenga in ivory or deep red for a wedding ceremony, or separate the earrings and mangtika against a silk dupatta draped over a plain kurta for a sangeet or formal family dinner. The adjustable necklace fits most necklines without alteration. The brass base keeps the set firm against the skin and prevents the distortion that lighter alloys sometimes introduce over a long evening.
