Description

There is a particular confidence that comes with a waist that is adorned, not decorated. This kamarbandh revives a silhouette that once graced the courts of Rajasthan and the zenana chambers of Bengal alike, where a woman's waist was considered its own canvas for craft. Worked in brass with a warm gold tone finish, the piece is set with coloured stones arranged in repeating floral and geometric motifs, each element catching light with the quiet assurance of costume jewellery at its most considered. A graduated pearl drop punctuates the central pendant, softening the geometry with organic warmth. The entire chain weighs a substantial 71 grams, giving it the satisfying drape that lighter pieces cannot achieve. The central ornament measures approximately 3.6 centimetres in length by 2.5 centimetres in width, scaled to sit beautifully at the navel without overwhelming the waist. Wear it over a sheer georgette saree for a mehendi or sangeet, where it will move with every step; or thread it through the waistband of a silk lehenga for a bridal function, letting the pearl drop anchor the look at centre-front. The free-size adjustable chain suits most waist measurements comfortably, with a secure clasp designed for easy fastening and confident movement. The brass base holds the gold tone plating evenly, resisting the kind of uneven wear that plagues thinner-gauge pieces, making this a reliable companion across a full season of celebrations.
