Description

She arrives as devotion made wearable, the goddess herself presiding over every inch of brass. The haram is rooted in South Indian temple jewellery, a tradition that flourished in the shrine towns of Tamil Nadu and the courts of Nagercoil, where brass was consecrated as readily as gold and worked into the forms of the divine. Here, Goddess Lakshmi anchors the centrepiece, flanked by the peacock, that ancient emblem of grace and celestial abundance. The necklace spans a generous twelve inches in length and five inches in width (approximately 30.5 cm by 12.7 cm), its layered panels carrying the weight of antique-finish temple craft. At 133 grams, the set has the satisfying heft of serious work. The earrings, each measuring approximately 5.6 cm in height by 2.5 cm in width, echo the necklace's iconography in miniature, suspending the same motifs at the jaw. Wear this over a silk Kanjivaram saree for a wedding reception and let the brass read as old gold in candlelight. It is equally at home atop a raw-silk kurta at a festive puja gathering, where its devotional character feels entirely earned. The necklace fastens with an adjustable dori, meaning the drape sits comfortably across varied necklines without alteration. Brass in this finish ages beautifully if kept away from moisture and stored in a soft cloth. Free size; one set includes both necklace and earrings.
