Description

There are prayers that live not in words, but in touch. The Tulsi plant has been sacred to Vaishnavite devotion for centuries, its woody beads believed to carry the fragrance of the divine even after they have been turned and strung. Each bead in this certified mala is carved from genuine natural Tulsi wood, worn smooth by the rhythm of the hand, retaining that characteristic pale, warm grain that no synthetic material can replicate. The sterling silver accents that punctuate the strand bring a quiet structural precision to what is, at its heart, a devotional object. The 108-bead count follows the classical japa tradition, and the piece sits at a length of fifteen inches (approximately 38 cm), falling close to the throat in the manner of a kanthi. The weight, a substantial 13,600 g in total, gives the mala a grounded, unhurried presence on the palm. Wear it knotted once around the wrist during morning puja, then let it rest against the collarbone over a plain cotton kurta for the remainder of the day. For Ekadashi or temple visits, it pairs naturally with a Kanjeevaram silk saree in muted ivory or rust, where its simplicity speaks more than ornament could. The free-size form fits most wrists and necks without adjustment. The sterling silver components are smooth-finished and cool against the skin, requiring only occasional gentle wiping to maintain their quiet lustre alongside the natural Tulsi beads.
